Rainbow Village is a colorful fairytale village created by retired veteran Huang Yongfu, who used his painting skills to transform the original Taiwan Provincial Security Officers' Rest House in Dongmen City, Taichung, which was slated for demolition.

Founded in 1927, Palmyre Eye Hospital was an important landmark in Taichung during the Japanese colonial period.
