Highlights

What do you think romance is? Is it the companionship that builds day by day, or a carefully planned surprise? This time, we've planned a four-day, three-night itinerary for couples, with everything from sightseeing and soaking in hot springs to shopping and enjoying delicious meals. If you want to create romantic memories just for the two of you, don't miss this! Take a look now!

Day 1: Forest Hot Springs Fun

Yunxian Wonderland Cable Car Forest Recreation Area

First, let's head to Taiwan's first forest recreation area. You need to take a cable car to get there, which offers breathtaking views of the Ulan River Valley and forest scenery as you ride. Inside the park, you'll find diverse natural landscapes, including waterfalls, suspension bridges, and rock trails – perfect for taking memorable photos. There are also various recreational facilities, from boating, archery, to paintball. We highly recommend trying out the boat rides; they offer beautiful scenery and a romantic experience for couples. If you get hungry, you can purchase afternoon tea or meal vouchers for a leisurely dining experience. After refueling, you're ready to continue exploring. Many visitors choose to stay overnight at the Yunxian Grand Hotel located here, but remember to book in advance!

"Immerse Yourself in Hot Springs with Mountain Views" - Luchen Hot Spring Homestay

The most famous activity in Wulai is soaking in hot springs! There are many hot spring resorts to choose from, with most offering hot spring or private bath experiences lasting 1.5 to 2.5 hours. Some options include add-on meals and even accommodation. Most importantly, they offer stunning scenery! After experiencing the various facilities at Yunxian Leisure Park, a relaxing soak in the hot springs is a must. This time, we recommend traveling to Li Chen Hot Spring B&B. They have mountain view suites available, with rooms decorated in a comfortable, literary style. After soaking, you can relax and unwind – it's incredibly romantic!

Day 2: Capture Stunning Views for Picturesque Memories.

Romantic Hiking Trails in Yangmingshan National Park

Starting your day at Yangmingshan National Park offers numerous recreational spots, trails, and cycling paths. Both locals and tourists love coming here for a breath of fresh air. Some notable natural landscapes include Zhúzi Lake, Qīngtiān Gāng, and Qīxīng Mountain. Couples can enjoy the breathtaking beauty of nature together. The park has multiple trail options, allowing you to choose your own path or book a guided tour. Select trails based on difficulty level, creating either a challenging or a leisurely romantic experience. If visiting during butterfly season, witness a mesmerizing display of butterflies fluttering about!

Want to skip scenic restaurants on your romantic trip? This rooftop spot is a famous date night destination in Taipei. With numerous seats, it always has long queues. Using different colored lights and seating designs, it's divided into several seating areas. The menu varies depending on the location you are assigned, but the most important thing is the stunning view! You can see the entire cityscape of Taipei. The scenery is beautiful both during the day and at night. However, general seating areas don't accept reservations, so waiting for half an hour is normal. Consider visiting during off-peak hours or queuing early to avoid getting a less desirable view. You can move freely around the area and take lots of great photos!

Day 3: Cycling Tour

Golden Water Riverside Bike Path at Guandu

On the third day, let's go for a bike ride! The Golden Waterside Bicycle Path is about 15 kilometers long, with beautiful scenery along the way. Cycling and chatting is super romantic! You can start by borrowing a bicycle in front of Guandu Temple. Taipei's ubike bike-sharing system is very convenient, allowing for return at different locations. Of course, you can also rent from nearby bicycle shops. Along the way, you'll pass through the leisurely Guandu Nature Park and then the Mangrove Ecological Protection Area, where you can see plants like Rhizophora (water apple) and other mangrove species. Sometimes, you might even see crabs walking on the bike path, so be careful not to step on them. Finally, you'll arrive at Tamsui!

Lovers' Bridge, Tamsui

Taking a bicycle ride to Danshui, you definitely have to walk along Danshui Old Street! Besides enjoying delicious food like "ag-giv," you can also walk to the vicinity of the Starbucks by the riverbank, where there are usually street performers singing. Coupled with the Tamsui River night view, it's incredibly romantic! There are scenic restaurants behind, but if time permits, I recommend going to Lover's Tower. It's a revolving observatory that looks most stunning at sunset or at night, but the experience time is short, so you need to keep an eye on the time for photos!

Day 4: Culinary Delights Meet Swans

Lake Surface Reflecting Lights - Bi Tan

On the last day, we arrived at Bi Tan. First, we went to the most famous Bi Tan Bridge, which connects the east and west banks of Bi Tan. At night, the lights on the bridge are especially beautiful; next, you can stroll along the waterfront path to admire the natural scenery of Bi Tan. For couples, taking a swan boat ride is perfect! Two people in a boat cruise the waterscape; afterwards, you can go to the Bi Tan Scenic Area, which has many characteristic restaurants and shops. It's comfortable here whether during the day or at night; most importantly, we just happened to be there during the water dance performance. The light projection combined with the water dance is really impressive!

Gongguan Commercial District surrounds National Taiwan University. You can stroll along the famous Coconut Grove Avenue within the campus, or visit Huashan Market for unique delicacies and clothing. Many snack stalls start operating in the late afternoon, offering local favorites like fried chicken, purple rice milk, scallion pancakes, and more. This time, we want to introduce the popular queuing scallion egg pancake. The pancake is thick and soft, paired with savory scallion eggs. The store also makes its own spicy sauce that you can add to your liking. It's really spicy, so be careful! The best part is that it's both affordable and generous in portion, which is why there's always a queue, no matter the time of day.
