Omihachiman, known as "the Venice of Japan," is located about 40 minutes east of Kyoto by car. Hachohori is an artificial canal that runs through the center of Omihachiman City, connecting the town to Lake Biwa. Taking a boat ride and enjoying the reeds and river water, experiencing ancient elegance, is the most beautiful and graceful season in Omi. Hachihori Canal is an artificial canal that runs through the center of Otsu City, connecting the town to Lake Biwa (Japan's largest lake).
