St. Vitus' Day

Saint Devota is the patron saint of Monaco, and a grand celebration is held in her honor every January 27th. Legend has it that she sacrificed herself in the 4th century to protect the Christian faith. The festival day includes religious ceremonies, parades, and fireworks. Most notably, a small boat symbolizing Saint Devota's arrival in Monaco by sea is set ablaze at night, representing the expulsion of evil and a plea for protection.

Monte Carlo Television Festival

This event, which started in 1961, is one of the most important television festivals in Europe. Held annually in mid-March at the Grimaldi Forum in Monte Carlo, it attracts television stations and producers from around the world to gather. The Golden Nymph Awards are presented to recognize outstanding works. Television fans have the opportunity to get up close and personal with many European and American stars and experience the charm of the international film and television industry. During the event, there are also screenings, seminars, and other peripheral activities.

Monaco F1 Grand Prix

In May, Monaco takes center stage in the international sports arena thanks to Formula 1. Since 1929, it has hosted a street race in the heart of Monte Carlo, becoming one of the most challenging and glamorous events on the F1 calendar. The track winds through the city streets, coastal avenues, and tunnels, putting drivers' skills to the ultimate test. During the race weekend, tourists flock to the principality, allowing spectators to feel the exhilarating rush of Formula 1 racing up close. Beyond the race itself, there are parties and fashion events, making it a pilgrimage for F1 enthusiasts and showcasing Monaco's luxurious allure.

Monte Carlo International Fireworks Festival

From June to September each year, Monte Carlo's sky is illuminated by dazzling fireworks. This historic international fireworks competition brings the ultimate visual and auditory experience from teams of pyrotechnicians from around the world. Held off the bay, visitors can enjoy the enchanting firework display from the seafront, enhanced by music for added romance~ The winning firework show will be presented again in September, offering a chance to experience Monte Carlo's culinary delights and nightlife alongside the fireworks.

Monacan National Day

November 19th is a significant national holiday in Monaco, commemorating the founding of the Grimaldi dynasty. The day features solemn ceremonies such as mass and a military parade during the day. Royal family members wave to the public, while an evening concert takes place at the Prince's Palace Square and fireworks are set off near the Place du Casino. Though small in size, Monaco's celebrations rival those of larger nations. If you have the opportunity to visit during this time, immerse yourself in the festivities and experience the patriotic spirit of Monaco.
