Besides live attendance, there are television and online broadcasts, allowing global audiences to share in the beautiful music.

Vienna Opera Ball

The Vienna State Opera's grand ball in February is a major event, attracting politicians, business magnates, celebrities and stars. The ball has a long history, with attendees required to wear formal attire to display their elegance. The opening dance features a performance by young dancers at the Debutanter Ball, a grand and lavish spectacle. In the ballroom, people waltz gracefully to waltzes and polkas, experiencing the grandeur of a bygone royal era! The banquet offers Austrian delicacies and wines, blending aristocratic style with modern luxury.

Salzburg Easter Festival

The renowned Austrian conductor Karajan founded the Salzburg Easter Festival in 1967. It usually takes place around Easter and features a rich program of opera, orchestral music, chamber music, and solo concerts, showcasing the pinnacle of classical music. The festival's charm is further enhanced by the backdrop of Baroque architecture and springtime scenery.

Bregenz Festival

Held annually on the shores of Lake Constance in western Austria from July to August, it is famous for its "floating stage," which sits in the lake and accommodates 7,000 spectators. The festival boasts diverse programs including opera, musical theatre, and orchestral music, attracting world-class artists and orchestras. Enjoying performances on the water while exploring the surrounding scenery allows you to experience the fusion of nature and art. The festival also promotes innovative works and cross-disciplinary collaborations, showcasing its vibrancy.

Linz International Street Art Festival

Held annually in July in Linz, Austria's third-largest city, it is one of Europe's largest street art festivals. This year, it takes place from July 18 to 20. Performers from all over the world bring dazzling performances of juggling, acrobatics, dance, mime, and more. The entire city center becomes a stage, with a joyful atmosphere on the streets! Visitors can enjoy free performances and experience the charm of street art~ The festival also features market stalls, workshops and other peripheral activities, suitable for all ages. A stunning light and shadow show at night brings the event to a perfect close.

Vienna and Salzburg Christmas Markets

From mid-November to December, Christmas markets in Vienna and Salzburg gradually appear, bustling with activity. Traditional wooden stalls sell various Christmas gifts and decorations, filling the air with a festive atmosphere. The most famous market is in front of Vienna City Hall, adorned with colorful lights and a Christmas tree, creating a fairytale ambiance. Hot mulled wine, gingerbread and other festive treats are indispensable. Salzburg's Christmas market has a more ancient charm, with the main cathedral square transforming into a fairytale kingdom. Shopping for gifts, enjoying performances, and experiencing the Austrian way of celebrating the holidays at the markets is a must.
