How long has it been since you last visited Macau? Every time I go, it's the same pork chop buns and egg tarts. It's time for something "new"! In fact, since the mid-to-late stages of the pandemic, Macau has seen a lot of new trendy food. This time, I'll take some seasoned Macau travelers to try some different flavors!

Cute Mochi Just Cake Let me know if you have any other translations!

Passing by, you'll naturally stop your footsteps because this new Chinese-style pastry shop is so cute! They mainly sell mochi, meat floss cakes, egg tarts, and walnut pastries. The entire store feels like it's melted into mochi, from the decoration style, font to packaging, all giving off a sweet and chewy feeling. The highlight is their mochi which is truly irresistible, with bite-sized and long-lasting pieces, any flavor will make you want to eat one after another. Among them, I highly recommend the chocolate flavor, the taste is very intense. The meat floss cake has a soft sponge base and comes in many flavors to choose from. The most important thing is that the prices are not expensive, if you're interested in trying, go for it!
Time: Tuesday closed from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Address: Ground floor E unit, Tong Yi Building, No. 8 Xin Jie Street, Macau. (Google Map)

Smiling Iron Box Iron Beancurd

Taiwanese iron-cast bean curd, actually made by a Blue Ribbon pastry chef, comes with adorable smiling iron boxes and colorful toppings that are visually healing. The signature "Iron-Cast Bean Curd" includes taro balls, taro paste, pearls, and red beans, as well as many different flavor combinations. It's quite generous in portion, enough for two people to share. Besides bean curd, they also sell milk tea, fruit tea, snacks, and rice dishes. Another recommendation is the "Smiling Chicken Cake," which is truly shaped like an egg with a cute smile on top. It's both visually and tastefully delightful!

Indonesian-style Coffee Shop

Sitting by the lake with a cup of coffee is a very pleasant thing to do. This newly opened Indonesian-style cafe is located next to Nanwan Lake, offering stunning views and scenery. When you look out over the lake, you can see the towering tourist tower on the opposite side, combined with the endless sky. It's as if you are in a painting! The atmosphere is perfect without doing anything. Besides coffee, there are also many Indonesian dishes here, as well as Italian pasta, bagels and other light snacks. The food presentation is exquisite, and the secret Indonesian sauces are a must-try! Whether you go alone or with your girlfriends or partner, it's very suitable!

French Bistro Chénson

Coming to this French bistro, I was immediately attracted by the decoration. The large floor-to-ceiling windows and wood materials created a very textured storefront. It also used many green plants to decorate, making people feel relaxed sitting inside. ~And the bread counter at the entrance is also very tempting, with many kinds of freshly baked bread to choose from. Most people will linger here for a while. If you find it hard to choose, I recommend you try their crispy croissant waffle and cute butterfly coffee! Of course, French dishes are the main attraction here. They even launched a Christmas meal set before Christmas, which included black truffle smoked ham chestnut soup, Boston lobster spaghetti, and day cake. The shop is constantly launching new items, bread, cakes, and main courses are all highly anticipated!

Korean Style Greek Yogurt Balls Lumi Cafe

This is Macau's first Korean-style Greek yogurt store. It's designed in blue and white tones, making it a great spot for photos. Their yogurt is very rich and has a texture similar to cream cheese, so they can make it into ice cream balls as shown in the picture. They top the yogurt balls with homemade granola, fruits, dried fruit, etc., making the entire meal more diverse. Recently, in Korea, this type of Korean-style Greek yogurt has become popular as a meal replacement. If you're still hungry, you can also choose yogurt bagels and pair them with a cup of rich coffee or healthy drinks to spend a comfortable time.
Time: 12:00 PM ~ 8:00 PM or 12:00 noon to 8:00 PM
Address: Shop E, Ground Floor, Sun Yee Building, 50 R. da Cunha, Macau (Google Map)

French Pastry Morais Bakery & Coffee

Another shop specializing in French pastries, unlike Chénson Restaurant, this place focuses on baking and coffee, especially their signature "French Napoleon Caramel Egg Tart", which comes out of the oven daily at 12pm and 4pm. If you want to try a unique egg tart in Macau, I recommend lining up right on time! The interior is decorated in a green and elegant style, and the food offerings are more refined. Many people order custom-made specialty cakes from them, and hand-drip coffee is also a big draw. They even offer cold brew coffee perfect for takeaway, using Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee beans. The beans are steeped at low temperatures to reduce bitterness and acidity, enhancing the floral aroma of the Yirgacheffe itself. Finally, it's served in a whiskey glass, giving you a different drinking experience.
Time: 8:30 AM ~ 7:30 PM
Address: No. 193 Rua de Mou Lai, Nam Long Industrial Building, Macau. (Google Map)

Korean Wave Healing Bakery Cafe

Walking into the Pida Backery Cafe with its minimalist and light-colored style, you're greeted with a serene and healing ambiance. Every detail, from the décor to the lighting, reflects the owner's care. They offer a variety of cakes, which you can check on their official Instagram to see what's available that day. For desserts, I highly recommend the "Matcha Snow Mountain." This handcrafted pastry features matcha almond cookies, matcha ganache, matcha mousse, whipped cream, and is topped with a delicate white flower, making it both cute and bursting with matcha flavor. Pair this treat with their "One Bean Three Drinks" coffee. They offer three variations: black coffee, latte, and specialty drinks, each with its unique taste. You can enjoy them all!
Time: 12:00 PM ~ 8:00 PM
Address: A1 shop on the ground floor of Lai Jing Building, below the Macau Cannon Fort. (Google Map)

"Leak Milk Taiji Meat Floss Multigrain Toast" Australian Uncle Tea Stall

This tea restaurant opened in 2023, you might think what's so special about a tea restaurant, well, I can introduce their "Leak Milk Tai Chi Meat Floss Toast". It looks very appetizing in the photo. Crispy toast filled with chocolate sauce, condensed milk, butter and meat floss, seeing those sauces blend sweet and savory flavors... it's really a sinful dish! And it's very good value for money, it can be said to be the signature dish of this shop. I also recommend their "Wagyu Beef Burger Omelette Rice", you can eat a big plate for less than 50 yuan, and "Claypot Herbal Chicken Soup with Rice" is also a must-try item!

Handmade Toast Specialty Roro Eatology Potpot Culinary Research

This is Macau's first handmade toast specialty store. Handmade toast has been very popular in recent years, with many specialized stores opening across the country and launching healthier toasts to satisfy customers. What makes this place special is that they also offer a variety of cute and creative breads, such as the little sun pudding bun in the picture, rose flower cream cheese bun, low-carb squid cheese bun, and even zongzi buns and tomato cheese chicken nuggets bagels for holidays. They are both visually appealing and delicious. Their signature toast also comes in many flavors, such as the "Ice Cream Taro Ice Cream Toast" and "Honeyed Pork floss Cheese Toast" that were launched last November. The store continues to release new flavors and products, but some items are also replaced, so if you want to try them, hurry up!

Unexpected pineapple buns

This creative pineapple bun specialty store sells many creative flavors, such as Thai milk tea, triple chocolate, mango pomelo sago, pistachio, matcha yuzu, and black sugar milk. Can you imagine all these are pineapple buns? It's safe to say the shop is incredibly creative! Online reviews are also very good, so I recommend trying several different flavors! Due to its high popularity, it is recommended that you pre-order with the store if you have a particular flavor in mind to avoid a wasted trip! Currently, the store is relocating, and the official website has announced that it will meet everyone at a new location in January. The new address is listed below. For those interested, please keep an eye on their official website!
