Shopping Paradise, East District

East District has always been a shopping hub, boasting everything from department stores to unique independent boutiques. It's particularly recommended for clothing shoppers, and numerous renowned restaurants are also located here. This area is a popular spot for local young people and office workers. Although East District experienced a decline in popularity after the pandemic, it still comes alive at night. You can easily access it by taking the MRT to either Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall or Zhongxiao Fuxing Station.

Mo Xiangxin Iron Plate Cuisine Restaurant

For a fine dining experience, head to this renowned MOK Restaurant, which specializes in Japanese-style teppanyaki cuisine. The restaurant's ambiance and high-quality ingredients create a stylish and minimalist atmosphere where guests can fully savor each dish.

The high ceilings, spacious interior design, wooden furnishings, and chairs create a particularly relaxing ambiance. Guests can indulge in delectable meals here, enjoy casual conversations, or savor moments of solitude.

Taiwan's Top-Rated Cold Noodle Dishes: Yongji Liang Mian

Next up is a personal recommendation from our editor, and it's also highly rated online: a noodle dish with cold broth. Every visit reveals a long queue outside, with separate lines for takeout and dine-in orders. The biggest advantage? Three portion sizes to choose from! Those with larger appetites can definitely challenge themselves with the large bowl of noodles. Aside from the noodles, the soup is another highlight of this shop. There are many different combinations to choose from, but our editor always opts for seaweed egg flower soup. After one taste, they couldn't bear to try any other options!
Opening Hours: 06:30~14:30, Closed on Wednesday
Address: 154 Yu Cheng Street, Nangang District, Taipei City
Directions: 1 minute walk from Exit 3 of Hou Shan Pi Station (MRT)

Lao Cao Xiang Chuan Flavor Hot Pot - Ren Ai Main Store (A Must-Try for Spicy Food Lovers)

This is also the editor's favorite spot, especially for a midday meal on weekdays. I always order the soul-stirring noodles and beef tripe vermicelli soup (shredded tofu + duck blood), but it's so spicy that I have to drink lots of water! It’s just so delicious! The restaurant’s signature dish besides its spiciness is the beef, which is a must-try. However, it often sells out quickly. It's best to come as soon as the shop opens to enjoy it!
Hours of Operation: Weekdays 11:00 AM~2:30 PM, 5:00 PM~10:30 PM; Weekends 11:00 AM~10:30 PM
Address: No. 6, Ln. 4, Rd. 4 Sec. 4, Ren'ai Rd., Da'an District, Taipei City
Getting There: A 9-minute walk from Exit 3 of the MRT Zhongxiao Dunhua Station.

Airport Transfers

The journey from the airport to Nangang is a bit of a distance, so it's recommended to opt for bus transfers to avoid lugging your luggage around and transferring multiple times! If you're set on going directly to Nangang, be sure to choose bus route 1843 to Nangang Transfer Station.
