At the end of winter and beginning of spring, it's cherry blossom season again! Taipei's cherry blossom season is roughly from January to April. This article compiles 10 top cherry blossom viewing spots in Taipei, providing you with comprehensive information including blooming period, photo spots, photography tips, public transportation, and parking lot details, allowing you to effortlessly admire the beautiful scenery and capture stunning photos!

Yangmingshan National Park

Yangmingshan can be said to be one of the most popular places for cherry blossom viewing, with numerous recommended check-in spots for flower appreciation. You can choose your destination based on the flowering period of different cherry blossom varieties, so you won't miss the blossoms! The most famous "Lane 42, Pingjing Street" usually blooms earliest, from late January to early February. Afterwards, it is recommended to go to Yangmingshan Park for viewing, especially the Fountain and Flower Clock Square, which are always crowded with people eager to take photos every year! If you want a less crowded spot, Water Curtain Cave next to the Yangmingshan Second Parking Lot is a better choice, with large swathes of double-petaled cherry blossoms.

Sanyi Big Bear Sakura Forest

With over 4,000 trees of different cherry blossom varieties, this place is also a popular cherry blossom secret spot. Especially because of the many varieties, cherry blossoms bloom from January to the end of March, so you can arrange your trip well! The park area is large, so don't be discouraged if you don't see many cherry blossoms at the entrance, just keep walking and you will see them. There are also rest stops along the way selling food and water. It takes about 2 hours to stroll around here, but there are quite a few uphill slopes in the park, so it's not recommended for the elderly or wheelchair users. Also, transportation is inconvenient, so it's recommended to drive yourself or take a chartered car.

Of course, besides admiring the cherry blossoms, you can also come here to worship and pray for blessings. If you want to take beautiful pictures, I recommend going to the stone railing next to the main gate. It's really perfect for taking beautiful photos, enjoying a cup of coffee, or having some light snacks. The best part about this place is that there are no entrance fees or minimum spending requirements!
