Kaohsiung is full of diverse tourist attractions, from street art, seaside beaches, large amusement parks, lifestyle outlets, bustling night markets, to mountain and water scenery. It can satisfy all your travel preferences and needs. This time, we have compiled 10 must-visit attractions in Kaohsiung, ready to welcome your exciting journey!

Coastal Food at Qijin

Qigu, which combines old streets with seawater beaches, is a very beautiful place in Kaohsiung. Its beaches stretch for miles and are accompanied by clear water. Under the sun's rays, you'll naturally fall in love with this beautiful scenery. There are also sunshades, resting areas, and shower facilities near the beach, allowing everyone to enjoy their time here. However, it is recommended that you bring slippers for walking on the sand.

Even if you get hungry playing, don't worry, there are delicious seafood restaurants lining Temple Street nearby, where the seafood is both fresh and affordable. The editor once tried a random one with friends and found that the CP value was really high. They also recommend the braised red meat soup and sweet potato cakes here!

Standing on the platform in the middle of the rainbow and facing the sea, it's romantic and beautiful! However, if you want to go, remember to check the time. From 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM is the wedding dress photography time, and visitors are prohibited from entering!

Selected as one of the most beautiful subway stations in the world multiple times, this light dome composed of 4500 glass windows is Kaohsiung Metro's Formosa Boulevard Station. It's hard to believe it's actually a station! So beautiful that it has become a popular check-in spot, and its location is very convenient, right at the intersection of the Orange and Red Lines. If you happen to pass by, stop by to admire and take pictures.

Intense Thrilling Rides - Yi-Dai Theme Park

It's possible that almost all students in Taiwan have been to the E-da Theme Park, as it is often a must-visit destination for school trips and graduation travels. It is divided into an amusement park and an outlet mall, but the E-da amusement park is much larger than Grassland and has many thrilling rides. As soon as you enter, you'll hear screams everywhere because at the entrance is "Twirling Sky," a 18-story-high, 360-degree rotating ride. The editor was so scared when they first saw it that their legs went weak, but luckily there are also less intense rides here, such as singing and dancing performances, haunted houses, bumper cars, and VR game areas.

After playing to your heart's content at the amusement park, you can head to the 123 Open-Air Market for some food and drinks. This market sells a variety of authentic Taiwanese snacks. Afterward, you can go shopping at the outlets. With your amusement park ticket, you can also enjoy a free ride on the Giant Ferris Wheel. However, since the area around it tends to dim earlier, you'll see fewer things on the Ferris wheel at night. It's recommended to take a ride before dark!

"Food Paradise" Rui Feng Night Market

Rueifeng Night Market is a very popular night market with numerous stalls and reasonable prices, making it a frequent gathering place for crowds. There are countless delicious food stalls, with four must-try items: the tender and thick "Angel Chicken Cutlet," the "Potato Pancake" made with potato shreds and cheese, the chewy and soft "Fresh Milk Mochi," and the generous portion and flavorful "Tseng Family Hokkien Fried Noodles." Other recommendations include "Xinchuan Double Flavor Milk Tea" and "Grandma's Sesame Oil Chicken Rice"!

Cable Water Skiing Lian Tan Water Park

If you're looking for some water sports, I recommend coming to Lian Tan Water Ski Park. With a pre-built fixed aerial cable tow rope system, the safety is much improved compared to traditional boat towing and can be adjusted to the participant's preference, allowing even beginners to experience it painlessly. It's super exciting and fun! There are also other water facilities available on site, but this friendly reminder: don't underestimate them, playing for two hours is very physically demanding! After playing, there are hot showers and dewatering machines available on site so you can go home feeling refreshed.

Grand Canyon Badlands - Tianliao Moon World GeoPark

The Moon World is a legendary badland terrain, formed by the continuous erosion of the rebound effect. Only drought-resistant and salt-tolerant shallow-rooted plants and coastal plants can grow, making it very spectacular to look at. There are also more than 20 mud volcanoes nearby, which are another type of badland. You can observe them up close at any time. You can enjoy this magnificent and desolate beauty of nature for free!

Traffic information

Kaohsiung's metro, light rail, and buses can already reach many popular attractions. If you have a large demand for metro rides, I recommend buying a metro pass. Besides unlimited rides within a specified period, it also comes with free amusement park tickets and ferry tickets according to the plan, making it convenient and cost-effective.
Kaohsiung MRT Pass 优惠套票

If you don't want to constantly worry about bus routes or find public transportation inconvenient, then I recommend driving yourself or hiring a car. You often see people riding motorcycles in Kaohsiung, which is convenient for navigating the city. However, remember to check your driver's license qualifications before renting a car! Hiring a car allows you to plan your own itinerary or have the driver make recommendations, offering the most convenient way to get around.

Travel Pass

In the end, I recommend you buy a travel pass! Order exciting activities at a more affordable price, such as tickets to Kaohsiung's Suzuka Circuit Theme Park and cultural cruise boats. You can also add several suitable attractions to your itinerary!
